On 12/21/2012 doomsday, will something bad happen?

I really don't think anything is going to happen, but the History channel keeps doing specials on it. What do you think about it??
1). There was no such thing as a doomsday prediction for 12/21/2012 originally; it's just the latest date that the doomsday crowd has justed on. The Mayans saw it as merely the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new one. Nostradamus never said anything about 2012, neither did the bible, or anyone else until people started making their own new interpretations after their last doomsday date ("the millennium") was an epic fail. :)

As for the History Channel, I was really disappointed in their so-called "experts." Here's just one of the many stupid errors made in that program: remember the part about the drawing with the 3 moons? The "expert" says that *must* mean 2012 because there will be 3 eclipses that year. How convenient! There are a minimum of FOUR eclipses *every* year! They're not always "total" eclipses and they're not visible in all locations, but there are always at least 4 a year: 2 solar and 2 lunar.

And as far as the Galactic Center goes, astrologically that's at the end of Sagittarius (the zodiac sign, not the constellation: they are 2 different things). Something "aligns" (a very vague term that could mean any number of astrological aspects) with the GC once a month by conjunction: the Moon. And the Sun, Mercury and Venus conjoin it each year as they pass through Sagittarius. Pluto just conjoined it recently and nothing bad happened then! LOL

2). CONCERNS, of whether we our in a special period of time , should be our main concerns , rather than have a special date for Armageddon,

Noah while building the Ark, also preached the destruction by the deluge, beginning on a special time period , that God had set

Revelation speaks of a time that the devil would be allowed to bring woes to the earth: "woe to the earth for devil has a short period of time" revelation 12:12

Could this mean that we are deep in the last days & Satans short time period? Some individuals have comments on the uniqueness of 1914 even though there was not anything religious meant by them?

3). Remember all those History Channel specials on Y2K? Exactly. And that's not even taking into account the hundreds of other times the world was supposed to end in the past few hundred years. And yet, here we are.
4). Something bad could happen to you anytime, so quit stalling on this pathetic theory and get on with your damn day, sorry, it is not your fault, but I have heard this doomsday thing so many times before!
5). Don't worry about it unless the discovery channel promotes it. But that won't happen. There is no evidence to support any of the doomsday claims.
6). Yes, all the doomsday people will be disappointed.
7). Yes, 12/21/2012 could really be true, the Mayan's may have been on to something. Look at the way the world has changed for the worse in just the last several years.
8). Scientist can check that out but until now nobody can be sure about the future only God knows what will happen.
9). The clock will tick and at 11:59:59, in 1 second it will be 12/13/2012. (:
10). Nothing unusual. Swine flu has a mortality rate of only 10% as compared to 70% for the 2007 outbreak of Avian flu. Zombies have never existed, so the possibility of their returning is zero. The world isn’t going to end in 2012. Those who claim that scientists are predicting doomsday in 2012 are lying. No scientist is predicting any disaster in 2012. The whole thing started out with unqualified people (Jose Arguelles and Zecharia Sitchen) misinterpreting the Mayan calendar and ancient Sumerian writings about the planet Jupiter. Then a woman who thinks she hears messages from aliens in her head decided to hijack Sitchen's imaginary planet for her alien fantasies. She said this planet would return in 2003. Then, when it failed to show up, she just changed her doomsday to 2012 to agree with Arguelles misinterpretation of the Mayan calendar. It has been all downhill from there. People keep tacking on new fantasies, none of which have a shred of scientific validity. They make up new scenarios of doom faster than scientists can debunk them, and they actually claim that scientists are saying these things. No scientist is claiming any doomsday scenario for 2012. Also, all the claims of prophecies for 2012 are false. No one predicted it before this bunch of scam artists started it to make money. Unfortunately, the History Channel, which used to be a reputable information source, gave up their credibility for better ratings and jumped on the 2012 bandwagon. Too many kids believe everything they see on the internet and are unable to discern a reputable scientific website from a crackpot one.
11). We'll switch back to female oriented societies like it was 5712 years ago at the end of the last Mayan calendar. Armageddon and all that deceitful Christians stuff has always been their excuse to plunder the world’s resources and gain control. Male led societies gave us 10,000 nuclear weapons, slave labor, brainwashing oriented patriarchal religions, mutilation, mass murderers, darfur and their ilque, an economic system that steals from a sustainable future, throwing women under the bus and the madness that we call normal. If you've gained from these human rights abuses yeah, it will seem like the end of the world. If your whole personality is geared towards dominating and manipulating, yeah it will seem like the end times. It might take an earthquake or something to wake people up. One geological disaster will bankrupt insurance companies and this is probably what the ancient mother will do to bury our violent societies. 21st century Sodom and Gomorrah, baboom, the earth has to reject us so it can survive.
12). The Myans where considered one of the smartest tribes back in their day. They create a calendar that ended on 2012. This also happens to be the time when all the planets line up in our galaxy. The talk is that the alignment will change our gravitational pull and cause our planet to shift.
13). Just take the lesson: what we are facing now to 2012 is global warming and one of the effect is the loss (by sinking) of thousand islands all over the world!! We must hand in hand to avoid the worse... The Mayan has their own reason why their year stop at 2012, says an epidemic to the whole population, protest to their king, "economic crisis like us now", etc, etc . . .
14). 2012 will not be the end of the world. No one truly knows this kind of information. It is only a clever way of reading the stars, but nothing is 100% correct on this earth.
15). Don’t be deceived. ONLY God knows when the world will end. And since everyone thinks its gonna end in 2012, it probably wont.
16). It's the end of the Myan Calendar... no more, no less... doesn't mean a freaking thing people... the world is NOT going to end !!!
17). Google the Mayan prophecies 2012
18). Won't happen its like the Y2K hype.

Another thing to keep an eye out for is Nibiru, this is a celestial body that the Babylonians had discovered long ago. Many people believe that Nibiru and Planet X are one in the same, and should be visble to the naked eye shortly before the end-of-the-world foretelling a certain sign of the end times! Many people also believe that Planet X will appear around the year 2012.
